Rock earrings: large double brilliant drop Sublimate printed aluminium, Sterling silver

Anna Davern completed her undergraduate degree in Jewellery and Object Design at Sydney College of the Arts and her post-graduate studies and subsequent Masters Degree at the RMIT. Anna teaches, writes, curates, blogs and primarily makes jewellery from her studio in Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
She exhibits regularly in Australia and overseas, has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards and has participated in residencies in Australia and Europe.

These earrings are from a range of oversized fake versions of traditional styles of jewellery. They are made from sublimate printed aluminum and are an homage to one of the initial tenets of Contemporary jewellery which was to react agains the use of precious materials. These earrings are also an alternative to the real thing at a time when the real things may no longer be affordable.
